        메기의 매력은 미풍을 타고 펴져나갔지

        The chestnut blooms gleamed through the glade 
        밤나무는 숲속으로 빛을 발했고 
        Maggie, a robin sang loud from a tree 
        개똥지바퀴는 나무에서 크게 노래를 불렀지

        The golden-robed daffodils shone

        사랑하는 메기, 
        난 오늘도 옛동산 아래의 모습을 보고싶어 
        언덕에 올라 거닐었다네 
        먼 그 옛날 우리가 같이 앉아 놀곤 했던 
        맑은 시냇가와 삐걱거리던 물방앗간은 
        지금도 변함없이 그대로 있다네 내 사랑 메기, 
        언덕에 있던 푸르른 숲은 사라지고 없다네 
        예쁜 데이지꽃이 처음으로 피어났던 바로 그 숲 말이지 
        내사랑 메기, 그대와 내가 어릴적 같이 놀았던 
        그 삐걱거리던 낡은 물방앗간은 
        지금도 변함없이 그대로 있다네 내 사랑 메기, 
        사람들은 말하지 이제 난 너무 나이가 들어 약해졌다고 
        내 걸음걸이도 예전보다 훨씬 더 느려졌지 내 사랑 메기, 
        바로 내 얼굴은 내가 살아온 인생을 말해주고 있고 
        그렇게 만든 것은 오랜 세월이라네 
        내 사랑 메기, 사람들은 말하지 
        우리가 너무 오래 살았다고 말이지 
        우리가 같이 즐겨 불렀던 옛 노래만큼이나 
        시대에 뒤떨어졌다고 말이야 
        하지만 내 사랑 메기, 내게 있어 그대는 그대와 내가 어렸을 때 
        그러했던거 처럼 여전히 아름다울뿐이라네 
        반복 
        그대와 내가 어렸을 때처럼 말이지
